Sinking

Day Ten

The tall man with the scars grip on her arm caused her to fade from the kitchen to the elevator. With the Awaken vial filled, she rides the elevator to the flaming hot third floor. The door opens to a desert. She didn’t like what she saw and ran back into the elevator and tried to skip that floor. But this only caused the elevator to tear open in its ascent. She realized she had to go back. In that desert she met Asher and the man with the scars was there too. Asher and the man with scars each tried to have her. Mia trusted in Asher and discovered he was the enemy and soon found herself sinking in the sand and the vial was crushed underfoot by Asher.

In “the story of WITH: A Better Way to Live, Love & Create” Allen Arnold writes about the deserts we go through. The enemy wants to keep us in those deserts we create and destroy our dreams through doubt, fear, self-reliance, self-defeating issues, and emotions in our lives. Without God we accept the enemy’s lies.

Once upon a time I was fifty-three pounds heavier. I was unhappy, felt unloved, and alone. Walking through that desert was long and hard. But through God sending me to Weight Watchers He enabled me to shrink from a size sixteen to a size eight. With that loss I gained confidence by walking away from a low self esteem. He used that time in the desert to become a Weight Watchers leader to help others do the same.
