Day Twenty-Three

“A Heart Prepared: Savor the Story of Christmas Advent Legacy Journal” points out who are enemy is – Satan. Everyday he wants to trip us up, especially those who are believers. He wants as many people in his camp as possible. So he lies to us. However if we are using the Sword that God has given us, His Word, Satan flees from us. No matter how grave our life situations are we can fight off Satan’s lies with our mighty weapon, God’s Word, who became flesh.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

The pandemic has been a blessing to me from God. For years doctors have been trying to determine what my ailment was. I was diagnosed with asthma, sinusitis, bronchitis, upper respiratory infections, ear infections, sinus polyps, mild pneumonia, and other respiratory issues. None of the whys were every found. In 2020 I was hospitalized thrice. My first admission was because I could barely breath, had coughing fits, and had an oxygen level of 70. While searching for the COVID-19 virus and prayers asking God to reveal my true ailment, the doctors learned I had eosinophils asthma, seven allergies, and was allergic to all non steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen which was my occasional drug of choice. Staying in God’s Word and praying kept me close to God and deflected the lies Satan wanted to convince me of about my health. Now through allergy shots and Cinqair infusions I have not been plagued by any respiratory symptoms for a year.
