Day Fifteen
Mary, the Mother of Jesus was selected by God to full His purpose of bringing all into a close eternal relationship with Him. For Mary this endeavor was not easy. She was pregnant before she was officially married, was forced to ride on the hard back of a donkey to Bethlehem in her ninth month, and then had to give birth in a stable where animals live. Who out there would raise their hand up to undertake this adventure? She was willing to following God’s lead into the unknown future for God. “A Heart Prepared: Savor the Story of Christmas Advent Legacy Journal” reminds us that we need not worry about a thing when our God calls. His will, though strange, will be fulfilled and He will provide.
And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them (Luke 2:7)
My God selected James and Kathryn to be my parents. He placed me in the womb of a nineteen-year-old woman who was married to a twenty-three-year-old recently discharged army veteran. They were in their seventh month of marriage when I was conceived. Nine months later on March 7, 1956 I was born into this world in the University Hospitals. I was the first born of two. My brother, Jimmy, was born October 1959. God provided in so many ways for this family of four and has taken them to many far away places. Thanks to His placement with my parents I am enabled to do His will today.
