I am a writer, the author of three books. I am supposed to be writing and speaking right?
Yeah, every week a devotional is published. Every Monday a video is published. Anytime I travel an article is written and recorded. A website for student maneuverability cones are updated when a new parking lot location is discovered. So, I am writing and speaking something.
What I have not been able to do is to write on my larger writing projects. I am in the middle of two books, but little or nothing has happened in awhile. The one you already know about the reconstruction of “Lives of a Gem: God’s Treasured Possession”. Actually God, has a list of other books on my agenda, but I am looking forward to the one on aging and how He uses the mature. Both projects await His presence in me.
Today He woke me up and said, “It is time!” From my experience through writer’s groups, writer conferences, and my favorite author Stephen King, I know I have to handle this like a job by showing up on specific days to write. That is how I have been successful with the three published books. But this last year, that has not happened.
With God’s life to the full schedule, when can I put write time in my schedule now? God helped me. He dropped me an email from a dear writer associate. After reading what she is offering, I have committed myself to join her writing accountability group for the month of February. The time is right; it fits in my schedule. It fits so well, that I have blocked off this time for the rest of the year for me without being in the group. I love it when it is God’s timing and not mine. Thanks God, for the challenges you gave me last year unrelated to writing and how You will use that as we create together. I will do all for God’s glory as I live His schedule and pray Big!
