Reading Challenge

It is important to read to be an excellent writer. I love to read. This year as a Goodreads author I took on the 2021 reading challenge. I have never done this before. I merely read to read not to read a specific amount in a year. During the early part of this challenge I had put down a lower number of books because I had no idea how many books I would be able to read in a year. I soon learned I was able to read more books than I originally thought. I had to increase the challenge amount several times. Thirty books were read in 2021.

I tend to read at least two books at a time. One book is always a spiritual nonfiction book for my personal growth with God. The second book can be a fiction, memoir, or any other type book. Reading two books in two different genres at the same time keeps me from confusing where I am in each book. Reading books in the genre that I write helps me to be a better writer for God. What an exciting reading year it was. Life prevented me from reading like I used to when I was younger, but this year has put me back on track. For 2022 the goal is to read thirty-five books. I am filled with eagerness as I look forward to which books God will send my way.
