Be Still and Wait
A prayer to lift our eyes above the noise.
For the past fourteen months God has provided pandemic unemployment assistance as a source of steady funds. Four weeks ago, I received a letter stating I had not submitted documentation to show I was eligible for unemployment. It was determined I was no longer eligible and disbursements stopped. I had proof that I had submitted the documents requested so, I filed an appeal. No response has been received. I continue to file weekly claims. In 2020 God placed me in the ministry of writing and publishing His works. His first book was published in June 2020 and two more will be published in a few months. Recently I began to look for part time jobs. However, no job I looked at interested me or fit my schedule. God’s schedule does not allow me time to work anywhere. Then I heard the Holy Spirit say, “sit still and do what I have you doing now. Financially, I got you covered.” In addition to that I was invited to a small group Bible talk in the same day. We discussed Genesis 16 about Hagar and Ishmael and how Abram’s and Sarai’s failure to wait on God resulted in unnecessary strife. This was confirmation for me to wait and do what God is telling me to do and let Him handle my financial situation. I already have seen what He has done in my life and in others’ lives. Therefore, I have no need to do anything, but keep my eyes focused on Him and do His will. What situations keeps you from fixing your eyes on Jesus and His plans for you? “Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.” (Proverbs 4:25-27 NIV) |
