Small Steps

The sun called me to the streets. It was an ordinary Wednesday lunch date with dad.

Dad and I have met for lunch on Wednesdays since December 2011. You can read more details about the first encounters in “I Don’t Have Time for That!” Wednesday is, as one of Dad’s friend said, “fixed in stone”. Nothing rarely prevents us from this date. However, COVID-19 knocked that stone aside and changed things. For weeks we could not meet. While it was still warm outside we met in our back yards, covered in masks except to eat. Over the winter we resorted to take out meals, but did not stay, just moments of contact while the meal was delivered by either him or me.

Today the sun, blue sky, and 50 degrees outside called me to walk from home to a restaurant a half mile away and pick up our meal. After months of suffering from pneumonia, allergies and asthma which reduced my walking ability, I was thrilled. A Facebook Live post told about the last two tenths of that walk.

Come back on March 7, 2021 to learn where God and I will walk on His schedule.

It is God's plan for me to encourage women to do all for God’s glory, live on His schedule, and pray Big.
